Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 28, 2026

PureQR is committed to protecting your privacy. This app is designed to operate 100% offline and does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.

1. No Data Collection

PureQR does not collect, store, share, or process any personal information. The app does not use:

  • Analytics
  • Tracking technologies
  • Advertising SDKs
  • Crash reporting services
  • External servers or cloud services

All QR code generation and scanning happens locally on your device.

2. No Internet Access

PureQR does not request or use internet permissions. The app cannot send or receive data over the network.

3. Camera Access

When you use the Scanner feature:

  • The app requests permission to use your device's camera.
  • The camera is used solely to scan and decode QR codes and barcodes in real-time.
  • Processing is performed locally on your device using the Google ML Kit library.
  • PureQR does NOT capture, store, or transmit any images, videos, or scanned data to any external servers.
  • The camera is only active while the Scanner screen is open.

4. Payload Inspection

PureQR includes a Payload Inspector feature designed to increase transparency:

  • When a code is scanned, you can view the raw text payload.
  • The app automatically identifies common tracking parameters (e.g., UTM sources, affiliate IDs) to alert you to potential tracking by the entity that created the code.
  • This analysis is performed 100% locally on your device.

6. Contact Access (Optional)

If you choose to import a contact to generate a vCard QR code, the app uses the system contact picker. PureQR receives temporary access only to the chosen contact. The data is used solely to generate a QR code and is not stored, uploaded, or shared.

7. File Access

When saving PNG or PDF files, they are stored locally on your device in the Pictures or Documents folders. PureQR does not access any other files on your device.
